Software developer. Arch Linux. Self-hosted everything.

I'm a backend developer with a soft spot for Python. It just fits my brain better than most languages. C# and Java pay the bills often enough that I've made peace with them too. Frontend, on the other hand, is where my confidence dies. I can bully CSS into behaving if I have to, but honestly I just make an AI eat that shit for me while I bitch about wanting less AI in my life. Massive hypocrite, I know.

Arch, obviously. Yes, the meme is accurate. No, I won't shut up about it.

I self-host basically everything I can get away with, held together by Docker and Traefik, which I love unconditionally right up until a reverse-proxy rule breaks. That same instinct is why this blog lives on Codeberg instead of GitHub. Microsoft already runs enough of my life. It doesn't need to run my code too.

The blog itself only exists because I got sick of solving the same problem twice. Writing it down once means I don't have to dig through my own broken memory six months later, trying to remember how I fixed it the first time. And honestly, maintaining this thing and writing posts is just fun. I like having a spot to dump whatever I figured out that week.

I'm also genuinely interested in new opportunities, remote or somewhere around Aachen. If something looks interesting, say hi.
